Our staff continuously monitors the radar throughout the day. If it’s just a light rain we’ll continue our activities on the beach. Sometimes its actually quite refreshing! However, if it’s a downpour or if lightning is present, we will leave the beach and take shelter in the two large pavilions at our site. We will utilize this downtime to teach students Ocean Safety and Ocean Awareness. These summer storms typically last 15-20 minutes. Our staff will monitor the radar and will bring the children back down to the beach as soon as it’s safe.
Surf Camp is rain or shine. Usually bad weather means good waves! We will not cancel camp due to inclement weather unless there is a tropical storm/hurricane, and we will issue make-up days for any days missed.
You will receive a confirmation packet once your registration is complete. This will include what to bring, where to go, etc. You will bring a backpack with lunch Monday-Thursday, sunscreen, towel, sandals/flip flops, and positive vibes!
