Frequently Asked Questions:

Our staff continuously monitors the radar throughout the day. If it’s just a light rain we’ll continue our activities on the beach. Sometimes its actually quite refreshing! However, if it’s a downpour or if lightning is present, we will leave the beach and take shelter in the two large pavilions at our site. We will utilize this downtime to teach students Ocean Safety and Ocean Awareness. These summer storms typically last 15-20 minutes. Our staff will monitor the radar and will bring the children back down to the beach as soon as it’s safe.

Surf Camp is rain or shine. Usually bad weather means good waves! We will not cancel camp due to inclement weather unless there is a tropical storm/hurricane, and we will issue make-up days for any days missed.

Yes, we separate the children into groups based on ages. This helps ensure a safe and fun environment for the children. We will do our best to make sure all friends/family members are together if they request it, however keep in mind that this may result in older children being placed in the younger groups. We will not add younger children to the older groups for safety reasons.

No. See you next year!
No we do not. Please be on time for pick-up!
We invite all parents to come join us Friday afternoon so the kids can show off their skills! However, we discourage parents from hanging around during the week because this causes a major distraction and can lead to serious behavioral issues. This leads to safety issues as children tend to challenge our staff’s authority when their parents are present. We need the children’s full attention while they are in the water. If you are going to be watching at all during the week, it is imperative that your child/children don’t see you. Please keep your distance!
